Hipster Pug
Meiby modeling yet another scarf (get the pattern here). I need to get some nice "action" shots of this design but I'm not a good model. I'm not sure it's professional to have your dog model it though ;)

getting colder
This weekend we bathed our pug. If you've ever bathed a pug you'll know that they don't dry quickly. We usually towel her off as much as possible and then let her run around or roll around on a towel until she's dry. This time, after the running and rolling, she was still a bit damp and she curled up on my lap and shivered, poor puppy! So I wrapped her up in a towel and cuddled for a while, and then I thought, it's fall... maybe it's time to get out her sweater! So she's been rocking the sweater ever since and we are constantly amused by the cuteness. She kind of waddles around when she wears it and when she curls up on the couch she looks like a caterpillar peeking out of a cocoon.

Chubby Puggy
Sure, the camera adds 10 pounds and the sweater probably adds a few too but I weighed Meiby this morning and she has put on some weight!. She's now 17 pounds at just 2 weeks shy of 1 year old (OK, maybe not "chubby" but she was around 15 pounds about 2 months ago). She's certainly not getting the same amount of exercise now that it's cold and snowy outside. She still looks healthy though, just a little broader in the chest and a little "foldier" if you know what I mean. She's a big girl now, nearly an adult! They grow up so fast :p

Turtleneck Sweater
I modified Meiby's sweater because it kept creeping down over her "shoulders". I made it longer and skinnier at the neck so it now looks like a turtleneck. We left it on her all night one night last week and she had somehow gotten one "arm" out through the neck hole... We take it off of her before bed now :)

The Stylish Pug
I made Meiby a new sweater this weekend. I used the same crochet pattern as last time but used a much thinner yarn and smaller hook. She doesn't seem to mind wearing it but it keeps slipping down since she doesn't have much "shoulder" to hold it up.

I had to try it on her a few times while making it to see where I needed to increase/decrease to make sure it would fit... and she ran away with the yarn still attached (notice the yarn is not only still attached to the sweater but it's also hooked around Meiby's tail):
I'd like to add that I'm not generally the type of person to dress up an animal... but since I like to crochet and it's getting colder outside, I thought I'd try my hand at making a warm sweater for my pup...
...don't judge me ;)

Crocheted Sweater
I may not have mentioned it here yet but I crochet things from time to time. I thought I'd experiment with making Meiby a sweater with some chunky yarn I had laying around. This pattern that I found on Ravelry (if you're a knitter/crocheter and not a member, you should be) seemed easy enough so I tried it out, testing it out on Meiby as I went along. She was definitely annoyed that I kept disrupting her sleep, putting on and taking off the sweater to make sure it would fit. But it's so cute on her. Now that I know how it works I'm going to get some pretty yarn and make her more sweaters she can wear this winter. Do you think she likes it? ;)
