My first sweater!

I actually crocheted myself a sweater! I was always kind of hesitant to do it because I hate sewing pieces together and I've never actually worn anything that I've crocheted before. I found this pattern that's worked top-down and is seamless... and it's super easy. I actually can't believe how easy it was, and it only took me 3 days to finish!

I think it looks pretty good as is (I will add some buttons or something) but I'm trying to decide if I want to add sleeves or not. Thoughts?

I would make the whole sweater including sleeves. The way it looks now, isn't very flattering and looks 'undone'.

Congrats on the first sweater! I think it loks good as a short sleeve. The only thing I would do is add the same shell border you have on the bottom around the cap sleeves to balance it out. I think this would look great in the summer paired with a cute tank top!

I think you've done a wonderful job. With or without sleeves it came out great. I've been wanting to try this pattern. Can I ask what yarn you used?

Thanks! I ended up adding just a couple rows to the sleeves to put a finished edge on it and I put a button at the top. I'll have to get my husband to take a better picture of it on me. BTW, It's Bernat Jr. Jacquards, colorway is called "Country Kid"

Good work! I hate sewing-up too, which is a bit stupid as I have made a blanket for my baby nephew (born in December) which involves 56 small squares- which of course were really easy to whizz off, but now I have to sew all of them together *groan

Thanks for posting about your sweater and how easy it was to make. I also have never crocheted anything to wear but I have purchased the yarn to make this sweater and am feeling a bit apprehensive! Your post has helped me feel brave enough to get started! :)
